He did some commercial insurance brokering, she did some English teaching, then they moved back to Chicago with a baby porteño.

Colonia, Uruguay w/ the fam

M 1.28.13
  • Jake had to work today, so I was in charge of the group
  • Colonia, Uruguay is a quick 1 hour boat ride from BA, so understandably, many travelers like to make the trip to get a peak at what Uruguay is all about
  • this time we took the cheaper Colonia Express boat, first one of the morning, and arrived a bit hungry
  • so we found a café in the middle of the historical center to sit down for coffee and croissants
  • or hotdogs and coke, like my dad:
in his defense, it was pushing 11am Colonia time...
hat purchased at San Telmo Market Su 1.27, hat left in cab on Su 2. 3; short life, but was a good hat dad
  • we wandered around the old streets of the historical center

found the Argentinosaurus for Noah! (even though we're in Uruguay)
!!! SMC LOVE !!!
  • then around lunchtime, the ladies stopped for a bite while the men took our rented golf cart to tour around a bit and find the beaches
  • look how much cheese was in Kelly's omelet!

  • we then walked to the beach to join the boys for some serious beach and beer time
shout out to Kim, Steve, and Jackson...we <3 you
  • then we took care of a bit of shopping before going to dinner (@ El Drugstore)
revisiting El Drugstore from mine and Jake's previous trip
  • finally, caught the last boat back to BA
  • a relaxing, sun-filled day in Colonia!
  • tomorrow we get on an early morning flight to Salta to continue the adventure!
